That’s all there is to say really, the server (www.abdnet.co.uk) was not responding yesterday evening and still isn’t this morning.

GENUKI has moved!

July 7th, 2014

The Genuki service has moved servers, but still has the address www.genuki.org.uk. We hope that the move is transparent to users, but if you do spot a problem please contact us via the link at the bottom of the page that has the problem. With tens of thousands of pages, a gazetteer and database of churches it has been a complex site to move.

After nearly 20 years hosted by MIMAS at Manchester University we are now hosted by Mythic-Beasts.com, and we are grateful to Mythic-Beasts, the Federation of Family History Societies (www.ffhs.org.uk) and Oxfordshire FHS (www.ofhs.org.uk) for contributions which have facilitated our new hosting solution.

About Genuki: GENUKI (www.genuki.org.uk) provides a virtual reference library of genealogical information of particular relevance to the UK and Ireland. It is a non-commercial service, maintained by a charitable trust and a group of volunteers.

This looks like a server issue and we have no news as to what the problem is or when the pages will come back online.

End of trouble at Manchester

March 3rd, 2014
